Why and how does TAUS collect data?

TAUS collects personal data which is provided on a voluntary basis when an online form is completed and sent, or when an e-mail message is transmitted or when you use the translation quality evaluation tools on the TAUS website. The personal data may among other things include: your name, telephone number, email address and address and quality evaluation files in the Dynamic Quality Framework tools. By providing your personal data you consent to TAUS saving them in a file which has the appropriate security measures. TAUS may use this data for the purposes of computerized customer administration and market research.

How is the data secured?

TAUS ensures that adequate technical and organizational measures are taken to secure your personal data against loss or any unlawful processing.

The Website is hosted by Hostgator in Houston (Texas) in the United States of America. Hostgator is contractually obliged to process your personal data properly by, amongst other things, implementing sufficient security measures and processing the personal data only in accordance with our instructions.

The TAUS platform member area is password protected.  Members use HTTPS or a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection when connecting to TAUS to ensure that all data transmission is encrypted. All data is stored behind a dedicated firewall. The firewall is comprised with Cisco WebNS Software which ensures high levels of security without compromising site performance.

Online registration is also performed with an HTTPS encrypted connection. No credit card information is entered or stored on the TAUS website. Online payment is through secure payment to RaboBank. The Rabobank Group is bound by the Personal Data Protection Act, and supports the Code of Financial Institutions, issued by the Dutch Association of Banks and the Federation of Insurers.  

How long is the data retained?

TAUS will keep your personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, to provide you with services and to conduct our legitimate business interest or where otherwise required by law.

Which rights do you have?

Under the terms of the applicable data protection rules and legislation you are entitled to inspect and, if necessary, correct any personal data concerning you.
